The 2024 Annual General Meeting ("AGM") of the British Columbia Institute of Agrologists ("BCIA") respecting the 2023 fiscal year shall take place by way of a hybrid format (in-person and virtually) on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm Pacific Time. It's the 77th year for BCIA as a regulator!

The 2023 AGM minutes, Annual Report, Audited Financial Statements and other materials will be reviewed during the meeting.

AGM Materials are posted when they become available.

BCIA is pleased to announce the results of its online nomination process for three (3) Registrant Board Member positions within Districts 1, 2, and 3 in compliance with the Professional Governance Act (PGA) and the BCIA Bylaws.  We thank the respective candidates in each District for their commitment to moving BCIA forward.

The following candidates have been confirmed into the following positions commencing with the adjournment of the 2024 BCIA AGM set for May 8, 2024 in Nanaimo:

Call for Resolutions – BCIA AGM: Proposed resolutions will be considered at the BCIA AGM on May 8, 2024. The call for resolutions submission deadline is 45 days prior to the AGM. If considering a resolution, please submit to Interim CEO, Jane Kerner, no later than 4:00 PM (Pacific time) on Friday, March 22, 2024.

On March 6, 2024, notice was given of an election for one Registrant Board Member from BCIA Regional Electoral District 2 and BCIA Regional Electoral District 3. Click the links below to view a listing of candidates plus the official notice of election for each respective District.

BCIA volunteers are integral to the Institute! There are vacancies to fill! Please consider volunteering - BCIA registrants are needed to fill vacancies on the following committees. Lay Members (non-BCIA registrants) are also required for the committees, so spread the word within your networks. Each Terms of Reference outlines the mandate, functions and responsibilities, and other key aspects of sitting on a committee.

Call for 2023 Mentor of the Year Nominations

The Mentor of the Year award may be presented to an active Professional Agrologist (PAg) or Technical Agrologist (TAg) who epitomizes the values and leadership of a mentor engaged in the BCIA Articling Program. Articling registrants and newly minted PAgs and TAgs! Please consider nominating a mentor for the Mentor of the Year award before the deadline of March 1, 2024,11:59 PM PST at nominations@bcia.com.

UPDATE: effective January 16, 2024 late fee(s) have been added to outstanding 2024 invoices.

Nominations for the 2024 BCIA Board elections, Regional Electoral Districts 1, 2 & 3, are now open. BCIA officially issued a call for nominations for one (1) Registrant Board Member for each district. Registrants in good standing are eligible to sit on the Board and must meet eligibility requirements as described in each District notice. Thank you for your patience in receiving the 2022 Audited Financial Statements. The 2023 BCIA AGM, which originally began on April 22, 2023 at 9:00 AM will continue on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM PST via Zoom.

The BCIA Board and staff will present the 2022 Audited Financial Statements for approval.
