Adriana is a biologist with extensive research experience as a molecular plant physiologist, studying physiological responses, gene expression, and phenotypic plasticity of plants exposed to abiotic stresses (such a drought, light and nutrients deficiency, and contaminants) and in plant-fungi interactions. Adriana holds a Ph.D. degree in Forest Biology and Management from the University of Alberta, and she was a postdoctoral fellow for three years with the Water Relations’ lab at the University of Alberta. She also was a postdoctoral fellow for two years in the Institut de Recherche en Biologie Végétale at the University of Montreal. Adriana is currently working as a Senior Environmental Protection Officer with the Environmental Protection Division at the BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. Adriana volunteers as a director for the Board of the Bulkley Valley Research Centre since 2018.
