The Do More Agriculture Foundation is the national voice and champion for mental health in Canadian agriculture and is changing the culture of agriculture to one where all are encouraged, supported, and empowered to take care of their mental wellbeing. Those working in the agriculture industry are among the most vulnerable when it comes to mental health issues. By collaborating with the entire industry and those working to address the state of mental health in Agriculture, we can and will make a substantial impact.

Join us for an interactive and informative session designed to equip agricultural professionals with the knowledge and tools to recognize and manage the early signs of burnout, a prevalent yet often overlooked issue in the agricultural sector.

Key Aspects of the Workshop Include:

  • Understanding Burnout: Gain insights into what burnout is, how it differs from general stress, and why it is particularly common in the agricultural industry.

  • Recognizing the Signs: Learn to identify the early symptoms of burnout in yourself and others, including physical, emotional, and behavioral indicators.

  • Personal Self-Care Strategies: Explore personalized approaches to self-care, emphasizing the importance of maintaining personal well-being to prevent burnout.

  • Practical Tips for Busy Seasons: Receive actionable advice on managing workload and stress during peak agricultural seasons, ensuring sustainability and health.

  • Creating a Supportive Environment: Discuss ways to foster a work culture that acknowledges and addresses the risks of burnout, promoting mental well-being among all team members.

About the Speaker:

Through her grassroots advocacy and policy work, Megz has contributed to meaningful change at provincial, federal, and global levels, always with a focus on the mental health of producers and the agricultural industry as a whole.

As the Executive Director of The Do More Agriculture Foundation, Megz uses her background and lived experience to advance the conversation about mental health in agriculture. She works to raise awareness, create community, build and strengthen partnerships, and support the well-being of those in agriculture, their families, and rural communities.
