*PARENTAL LEAVE OR MEDICAL LEAVE POLICY >
A credit will be calculated if a parental or medical request is submitted mid-year and the year's annual fees have already been paid. The credit will be determined using a combination of the pro-rated yearly fees and the pro-rated Parental Leave or Medical Leave fee. The resulting credit will be applied ONLY to the (pro-rated) fees when returning as a practicing Registrant. Annual renewals at $125.00 while on leave are permitted for a maximum of three (3) years.
Backdating to a pro-rated quarter will not achieve additional credits unless extenuating circumstances are presented; please submit requests within 30 days of the requested effective date.
This grid applies to those requesting Parental Leave or Medical Leave mid-year, January 15 to December 31. The grid displays Parental and Medical Leave requests based on the quarterly pro-rated schedule with return-to-practicing status requests made within the same quarterly schedule.
Example: Requesting Parental Leave or Medical Leave mid year
PRORATED FEES >
Prorated Quarterly Schedule based on the approval date or date of return: Full fee to March 31, 3/4 fees up to June 30, 1/2 fees up to September 30, and 1/4 fees to December 31
Newly Approved Registrants and Returning as a Practicing Registrant from On Leave*
*If $75.00 (for on leave) has been paid for the current dues year and a request is submitted for a return as a practicing Registrant for the same year between January 1st - March 31st, full dues are adjusted. If a Registrant returns to practicing status mid-year, the pro-rated fee plus the On-Leave fee that was already paid, will NOT be more than 100% of the full annual fee.

PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION FEE POLICIES >
Policy on Payment, Removal from Register (Discontinued), and Reinstatement
- Annual fee invoices are available by early November for the following year
- After January 15 the Late PD Filing Fee is applied to those without a PD Report for the reporting year
- After January 15, the Late Payment Fee is applied with impending removal from the Register as "Discontinued" if not paid by March 1
- If fees are not paid by March 1, a letter is sent via email indicating removal from the register and set to "Discontinued." Additional penalties are incurred if reinstatement is requested and may only be done within three (3) years from the date of leaving
- If reinstating from "Discontinued" within the three years from the date of leaving, it is required to pay the annual fee for the year leaving plus for the year returning plus applicable late fee(s) and reinstatement fee.
- If reinstating outside the three (3) years as "Discontinued" or "Resigned in Good Standing," former Registrants must reapply under the current standards of the day
It is strongly encouraged to submit the Resignation in Good Standing form before the deadline to avoid additional penalties if reinstating in the future.
Reinstatement Rules: Sections 70 - 76 BCIA Bylaws.
