As per directives from the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance relating to the Professional Governance Act, BCIA is required to maintain a public website listing for seven (7) years of former Registrants who left the organization before February 5, 2021 that shows their professional status at the time of leaving BCIA.

All Registrants who leave BCIA after February 5, 2021, will be placed on the public listing for ten (10) years. Registrants leave BCIA in numerous ways, according to the definitions below.

  • Resigned - Provided notice of leaving to BCIA by April 1 of the year in which annual Registrant fee(s) were due by submission of the form Notice of Resignation in Good Standing to the Registrar.
  • Discontinued - Removed from the register due to failure to pay annual fees and the assessed late fee, if any, before April 1 of the year in which the annual Registrants fees were due.
  • Transfer Out - Registered professionals who have transferred to another provincial agrology regulator in Canada.
  • Removed from Register - Refers to removing a Registrant according to an order from the Investigation Committee, the Discipline Committee, or Council. The Registrar may also remove a Registrant for non-compliance with registration or professional development requirements.

Please note that a former Registrant, regardless of the reason for removal, remains subject to the jurisdiction of BCIA and the Professional Governance Act for any act or omission committed during the period that the individual or firm (once regulation of firms has been enacted), was a Registrant of BCIA.
