Jessica Morgan, PAg, RPBio - Immediate Past Chair

Agrology and environmental consulting is a long way from her original career path of being a Doctor! Jessica wanted to do something that was different and where she felt she was making a difference. Jessica decided to take a course in Environmental Impact Assessment while she was in university and fell in love. Everything about the assessment process intrigued her and just wanted to know more. She still does and enjoys the many aspects of environmental consulting. Jessica also grew up in a coastal, industrial town where the impacts of smelters and mills were evident and allowed her to really apply what she was learning and see the impacts to wildlife and First Nations. Being a registrant of BCIA is to have a "backbone" of a professional designation. It keeps you accountable, gives you a great professional network, and many opportunities for professional development. These things are all very valuable in the world we live in. Jessica's expertise is in Contaminated land assessment, remediation and decommissioning, environmental impact assessment and mitigation planning and Regulatory support and consultation.

Jessica has volunteered with BCIA at the branch level since 2011 and at the provincial level since 2015. At the branch level she has been in secretary and president positions, and at the provincial level sitting on Council, a council representative on the Credentials Committee (up to Feb 2021), Vice President of BCIA and now President.

"My time on Council combined with my work as a resource sector professional has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding emerging issues affecting BCIA and the natural resource sector" ~ Jessica Morgan
