What does a Board do?
The key function and mandate of the BCIA Board is to govern and oversee the organization to ensure BCIA is meeting its mandate of regulating professional agrologists in the public interest. The board sets the organization’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction to guide BCIA’s regulatory work in all areas including registration, professional development and investigations. In addition, the board guides the values and principles in how BCIA does it work including making meaningful strides towards Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation as well as diversity, inclusion and equity.

Becoming a board member offers you a unique opportunity not only for professional development, but also for personal growth. Serving on a board allows you to contribute your skills and expertise to BCIA, gain valuable leadership experience and positively contribute to the strategic guidance of BCIA while developing new skills in governance, business management, and communication. It also provides you with the opportunity to connect with others in your profession and expand your professional network.
